Nyx Setting Spray Review
Hi Friends, I did a recent little makeup and skincare haul. One product that I bought was this Nyx setting spray from Walmart. I was so excited to try it because I had heard good reviews on TikTok! However, my experience was much different. I shook it well before use and sprayed many inches away from my face, like I have been doing with setting spray for years. This time though it went terribly. When I sprayed it on my face it was blotchy and orange! ORANGE! Watch the video and see:
Renter Friendly Home Upgrades
Hi friends, as many of you know Cameron and I are currently renting. Luckily we love our place so it doesn't need much work. However, we still have to keep in mind the fact we are renting whenever we do anything. I am lucky because working in film I have learnt a lot of hacks for how to improve or completely change a space without damaging the rental at all. 1) Hardware Switch out the hardware on your drawers and cabinets to update the look of your rental. This one should be simple enough that you don't need photos. 2) Peel & Stick Wallpaper There are lots of possibilities with peel and stick wallpaper; Make an accent wall, change all of the walls, or only do the bottom half of the wall. We used peel and stick wallpaper all the time in film! 3) Command Strips 3M's will be your best friends: command hooks and Velcro's are used for EVERYTHING in film. I have them all over my house as well. They don't cause any damage and can be used for almost anything: hanging frames hanging mirrors, wreathes, and other wall decor adding boarding to your walls without damaging the walls. 4) Hang Lights Hanging lights make such a difference -- Just look at my TikTok video: Connect With Me | It's not a conversation until you join in Instagram: @Samantha.Twist Youtube: Samantha Twist Facebook: Samantha Twist Blog Pinterest: Samantha Twist Blog Twitter: @TwistSamantha Podcast: Twist Talks

Easy Home Art Hack DIY: Canvas Painting from the Internet
Hi Friends, Do you ever see art prints you wish you could have but don't want to pay for? Have a girls crafts night coming up? I am going to share with you the easiest way to copy a drawing onto a canvas for your own art in your home. Video at the bottom. Step 1: Find a Picture You Like For me I wanted a painting of two hands making a pinky promise. Step 2: Grid Find an app or website to put a grid on the picture. There's tons of free ones and it's really easy to find. Then copy the number of lines/the grid onto your canvas. Step 2: Fill in Boxes Fill in the boxes on the canvas so each box looks the same as the correlating box on the photo's grid. This is much easier than trying to copy a whole photo. Instead of worrying about the whole picture you can just think "okay so theres a line that goes diagonal from the right bottom corner to the middle of the right side of the box." It is much more manageable. Step 3: Paint This also gives you a chance to clean up your painting a bit. See video below. Best Amazon Wedding Items to Buy
Hi Friends, As it is almost wedding season again, I thought I would share some of the items that I bought off Amazon for my own wedding. All items are linked so it is easy for you to find, and some have pictures from my own wedding. Place Cards I found these placards on Amazon that ended out perfectly matching our invitations! They came in a 50 pack, the exact number of people we were allowed. Obviously I ordered them immediately as seating cards for our ceremony and reception. Linked Here These Shoes Above are the shoes taken off at my wedding reception. I I think I kept them on for over 7 hours of my wedding so I say they were pretty good. I really wanted a pair of shoes I could wear often after the wedding and these are what I found. They had a 1.5 inch heel and I really enjoyed them. Linked Here For Your Happy Tears Facial Tissue Packs (60 Pack) I knew I was going to cry, as well as many other guests, so I bought this pack of 60 so that all of our guests could have a pack with them in their clutch or blazer pocket during the wedding. Linked Here Love is Patient Aisle Runner 3 ft. x 100 ft. We needed an aisle runner and couldn't find a nice affordable one to rent that wasn't red so we bought this one off of Amazon. Linked Here Toothbrushes I bought this 30 pack of Travel Toothbrush Set. TBH this was a little bit extra and a few guests laughed thinking it was a little extra. But Cam's grandparents thought it was necessary and I figured it would be nice for people to brush their teeth after lunch or dinner if they wanted but most of all I wanted to make sure they were nearby so no one would have any food in their teeth in any photos. I still have a few left over for when guests come to stay with us, and Cameron enjoys using them every few months to replace his toothbrush. Linked Here Dental Floss Picks I bought these dental floss picks for the same reason as the toothbrushes. It was a set of 300 but only 6 packs. I gave a pack (in new containers) to all of our immediate family members and our bridesmaids and groomsmen. Linked Here Chocolate Heart Mold My mom made all of our desserts, aside from the cupcakes. Everyone thought these chocolates (with the swirls) were made by the caterers but nope! The caterers actually kept eating these up! The recipe is here and then poured into these moulds. 3 Easy Canvas Art DIYs (Under $20)
Hi friends, Cameron and I haven't bought anything for our new house because once we move in a couple years, the art may not fit the space correctly anymore. But I don't like to just stare at bare walls. I want to make it homey... So I went to the dollar store and bought some canvases and supplies. As you probably know, I am quite artistically challenged. I always have wonderful grand ideas, however making them a reality is where I struggle. So you know, I'm only sharing with you the easiest and cheapest canvas art DIYs that I could find. The first piece was the easiest. What You Need: Canvas: Dollar Tree 1.25 Tools: Dollar Tree 1.25 Joint Compound/Spackle: Walmart $12 Total: $14.50 Steps: This is literally just one step! Spread the sparkle around the canvas until you like the way it looks. The second piece was inspired by someone on Pinterest and again, is all about just adding texture. Anyone on here by now should know, I love white textured things: blankets, art, architecture, photos, plates, flowers, etc. That is my design weakness is just white and textured. What You Need: Canvas: Dollar Tree 1.25 Twine: Dollar Tree 1.25 Hot Glue Gun: Dollar Tree 1.25 Spray Paint: Walmart $8 Total: $11.75 Steps: Step 1: Pencil where you want your twine to go Step 2: Glue twine there pencil marks are Step 3: Spray paint canvas The third piece of canvas art I saw on TikTok. I think it is called paint smearing. It was much easier than I expected and was actually really soothing to make. Things You Need: Canvas: Dollar Tree 1.25 Paint x3: Dollar Tree 1.25 (x3) Steps: Step 1: Put blobs of paint on canvas Step 2: Smear left and right (or up and down, you do you) Connect With Me | It's not a conversation until you join in Instagram: @Samantha.Twist Youtube: Samantha Twist Facebook: Samantha Twist Blog Pinterest: Samantha Twist Blog Twitter: @TwistSamantha Podcast: Twist Talks
Shein Haul, Try on, & Review
Hi friends, I spent just over $100 on Shein. I love Shein but it really is a hit or miss store so it is very important to read the reviews. Since I love reading reviews of sheen clothes and looking up what other people buy I figure when I buy from Shein I should "pay it forward" and put my hauls and reviews up for people to see. I don't make any money off of this, it's all just my honest thoughts -- I would never lie on a review because I rely on other people's reviews when online shopping. I also have a YouTube video at the bottom. Shirred Back Frill Trim Ditsy Floral Top This top is so cute! It is a bit shorter than I was expecting and a blouse like material but I really like it. I think it will be a great summer top and hopefully in the fall I can put a cardigan over it too. Linked Here Raglan Sleeve Solid Sweater I am a huge fan of chunky knit sweaters. This is actually what I was looking for on Shein was some nice winter sweaters on sale. This is the only one I found.... When I saw this one on sale I had to buy it. One thing you can’t really tell an oh t this sweater is that it has metallic threads woven in it which makes it even more cute! Linked Here SHEIN Elastic Waist Seam Front Leather Look Pants I've always loved the leather look and leather pants are just so easy to style. However I am always scared of buying leather pants because what if I don't like them?? what if they don't fit properly, what if they make weird noises while I walk, etc etc. These were only $11 CAD so obis they were so cheap I had to get them. These faux leather pants look like a matte trash bag off. However, they look better on. Cameron isn’t a fan - but he hates the faux leather/leather, whereas I love leather fashion. I’m happy these pants aren’t too long since I’m only 5’2; I wasn’t sure if I‘d be swimming in them or not. Linked Here Shein Basics Square Neck Top I love this square neck top! I think it is a classic style and looks super classy and refined. I think my next order I will buy more of this shirt so that I can rotate them!
Linked Here 2pcs Metal Chain Necklace I ordered this necklace set from Sheen. I love that they are not attached so I can wear them separately if I want to but mostly I love that they’re not attached because they get less tangled that way. I’ve been wearing them every day since I bought them. For cheap jewelry, I love them! Linked Here Flannel Tank Top & Pants Lounge Set This fuzzy set has been on my mind for months. I was counting down the days for this item to arrive. I love it, it is so soft. I basically live in this set. Linked Here 3pcs Girls Acrylic Hair Claw
The claw clip is also part of my Shein haul! It is so funny to see the things my mom used to wear come back in style. I’ve been wearing a claw clip in my hair ever since I bought it because it is just so easy! Linked Here V Neck Cable Knit Sweater Vest I finally caved to the grandpa knit sweater trend. I saw this one online for less than $11 So I thought “why not?” I ordered the color khaki which had great reviews and peoples pictures they uploaded looked quite light beige however mine came looking quite mustardy which I don’t love (even darker than in this photo- look at my YouTube to see the real color).
Linked Here Cut Out Back Sports Tee & Leggings I've been going to the gym more often and wanted some inexpensive workout clothes. I honestly was not expecting much from ordering she in workout clothing. I actually had really low expectations for this and thought I would be very thin or see-through and super baggy on me. However this item surpassed all of my expectations! Of course it is no Lululemon but I love the set and it was only about $20 and I will be wearing it often. We Got a New Dishwasher!
Hi friends, about a month ago our dishwasher broke. It was tragic. The last thing I want to do after working for 12 hours is to hand wash our dishes. I know Cameron can do it, and he did a couple times, but we made a deal that he cooks and I wash the dishes; which was a much better deal when we had a working dishwasher haha! This is our old dishwasher: The installer came in the morning and did what they do. He took out our old dishwasher which revealed this wallpaper I didn't know we had behind there! Here is the new dishwasher: So much more sleek! However, the back legs didn’t work (to level out the dishwasher if we wanted to lift it to be the same height as the counter and have no gap) but at that point he had been at our house for roughly 4 hours and I just wanted to continue my day and have a dishwasher so we kept it the way it was because it doesn't affect the dishwasher's job.
