Hallmark Worthy Christmas Decorations

Hi Friends, Something exciting happened this past week... I was mentioned in New York Magazine! Read the article here . I shared a couple of Hallmark decorating tips in the article but I wanted to share some more Hallmark inspired decorating ideas here:
1.) The sticks stems
Stick fans are a must for any Christmas tree! They add instant glam and make a tree so much more interesting to look at. There are lots of options to choose from including sprays, fans, berries , and pine cones . This is a Dollar Tree version .

2.) Poinsettias
We throw poinsettias around like confetti. They fill gaps on trees making them glamorous. they also cover brand names or other eyesores in shots. This is a Walmart version. This is a Dollar Tree version and so is this .

3.) GIANT NUTCRACKERS
We chose these in a recent Hallmark Christmas movie because the leading lady returns home to her rich home so we kept all of the decor in the house cool tones to represent a less cozy feel. This is honestly one of my favorite pieces. We bought two of these and set them outside the doorway of the house but it could also work inside. I just think it adds such a modern and sleek wow factor.

4.) garland
Put this wherever and it's instantly Christmassy. We drape over doorways, over cabinet-ceiling gaps, over large glass windows/sliding doors, etc. Here is a g arland from target .  We love stuff that is pre-flocked so that we don't have to do it. However, I would like to note that pre-flocked garland can make quite a mess so maybe leave it out of the kitchen so the sparkles and dusting don't get all over where you make your food.

5.) Wreaths
With Hallmark there is almost no such thing as too many wreaths. For some shots, we had wreaths on every wall, sometimes multiple on one wall. In my home, I only have 2 and I feel like if I were to decorate my place as a movie set I would need to add at LEAST 5 more.
This wreath is nice because it has a battery pack, which is nice for a good Hallmark look in film and we dont need to run an extension cord to it.  Here are some wreaths similar to ones we used in the film:
wreath 1
wreath 2
wreath 3
If you want to make your own wreath, read my DIY Wreath post .
6.) Mini trees in an assortment of sizes.
Obviously, you put as many full-sized Christmas trees in your house as you can. Normally on a set we have at least two in a room. Why mini trees in a variety of sizes are great is that there are endless possibilities for them.
For example add a set of three mini-trees to: your coffee table your dining table centerpiece  your mantle your TV stand your kitchen window any shelves above the cabinets, if you have a gap between the cabinets and the ceiling.  we used these in an assortment of sizes, and we used ones similar to these  and these . These are nice. This is a dollar store version. The same idea can be done with Christmas figurines but it is much easier and cleaner with trees.
7.) Throw Pillows Some good throw pillows are always a must for any household. It is an easy swap to make in your home. Here are some options similar to the ones we have used:
Throw pillow 1
throw pillow 2
throw pillow 3
